UNICEF receives support 8. nóvember 2006 16:11 UNICEF's chidren's center in Indonesia Five Icelandic companies will tomorrow sign an agreement to support UNICEF in Iceland for three years. The grant is a combined 60 million kronur. The companies are Baugur Group, FL Group, Fons, Glitnir and Samskip. With this agreement UNICEF will further strengthen their work and will be able to fund more projects. The first project UNICEF does with the new sponsors is the day of the red noses on December 1st. It is a day of fundraising, people are encouraged to become „World Parents“ by sponsoring a child. Red noses will also be sold to raise money for UNICEF projects all over the world. Baggalútur wrote a song on the occasion called Brostu (Smile) and is already being played on the radio.
